In the summer of 2005, Beliz Demircioglu and Jamie Allen received a Baryshnikov Arts Center Fellowship to work on a new multimedia dance piece. Dancers control and effect four-channel sound and projected visual elements of the piece. Beliz and Jamie had the honor to work with Tere O’Connor as a dance mentor and received great feedback from Mikhail Baryshnikov and Merce Cunningham among many other artists and critics. Over six weeks of rehearsal culminated in a 45 minute piece for spatial (quadraphonic) audio, interactive visuals and original dance. The piece was performed at various private and public showings at Baryshnikov’s studios and at Eyebeam.
